What ClassMaster keeps, and why
Last updated 14 August 2026. This notice covers the ClassMaster web service and mobile apps.
Information we process
Account records include the teacher's name, email address, account ID, school or workspace and plan. Classroom records can include class names, learner names and identifiers, rosters, quiz content, selected answers, marks, timestamps and the structured scanner or teacher-correction evidence behind a result.
Camera and device data
Camera access is used to read response boards. Ordinary fast-scan frames are not retained. A temporary crop may be shown on the phone when a rare answer needs review, and is discarded when the review or scan session ends. Normal synchronization sends structured evidence, not photos or video.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate teachers, synchronize and restore class setup, grade quizzes, produce class and learner insights, operate the service, prevent abuse and provide support. We do not use learner evidence for advertising.
Optional AI features
When a teacher deliberately uses an AI feature, ClassMaster may send bounded question text or a teacher-entered topic to the configured AI provider. The current safeguards exclude learner names, learner identifiers, marks, response outcomes, class identity, school identity, classroom images and video from that provider input.
Where data is handled
ClassMaster's hosted classroom service is designed to run in Google Cloud's Johannesburg region. Shared Isazi Education sign-in and education-directory identities are handled by Supabase in Frankfurt. These providers process data only to run the service under their applicable agreements and safeguards.
Schools and learners
ClassMaster is a teacher tool, not a learner social network. The school or teacher is responsible for using learner information with the appropriate authority, notices and safeguards. Access to hosted classroom data is scoped to the authenticated school workspace.
Retention and deletion
Hosted classroom records are kept while the account or school pilot needs them. A teacher or school can request access, correction, export or deletion. Because the login may also be used by AIGrader, deleting the shared identity is coordinated across both products rather than silently leaving data behind.
Your choices
The mobile apps continue to support prepared quizzes, scanning, grading and local results without a network connection. Signing out removes the hosted session from the device. Applicable privacy laws may also give you rights to access, correct, object to processing, restrict processing or delete personal data.
